Debbie Hubbard - Head Trainer

Debbie Hubbard is the head trainer at Lake St. Louis Stables and has held the position since 1990.  She coordinates the lesson program as well as a full training schedule.  She oversees the activities of 40 horses and ponies.  She also attends approximately 15-20 shows annually in dressage and eventing.  Warmbloods, Thoroughbreds, Arabians, Saddlebreds, Quarter Horses, Paints, and ponies are all represented.  She is also active in the purchase of horses for clients, as well as evaluating prospects for show and investment purposes.Debbie Hubbard

Debbie is a 1990 graduate of Stephens College with a B.S. Degree in Equestrian Science and minor in Political Science.  She has shown hunters, jumpers, dressage and saddleseat.  She has experience with foxhunters, thoroughbred race horses and western pleasure horses.

Debbie has accomplished many riding milestones and accumulated many awards over her career.  Some of her accomplishments include the following.

She was selected in 1999 as Trainer of the Year by MHSA for Dressage/CT; this was an award that she would win again in 2001.

Debbie was the Fourth Level Missouri State Champion in 2000.  In July of 2001, Debbie and Flagranti, her Rhinelander gelding, performing in Columbia, MO, won the $1500 Prix St. Georges Jackpot class.  This same year Debbie became the recipient of corporate sponsorship by Purina Mills.  A partnership that continues today.Debbie riding Flagranti ("Jonas") performing the extended trot.

The 2002 year brought more success with "Meet Me in St. Louis" Series Champion - FEI Level, ABIC/USDF Region 4 Third Place Open Intermediate I, and ABIC/USDA Reserve Champion Region 4 - Open Prix St. Georges. 

Once again, in 2003, the "Meet Me in St. Louis" Series Champion - FEI Level was awarded to Debbie.  That same year, she won Third Place Open FEI Missouri State and Open FEI Missouri State Reserve Champion.  The 2003 Regional Qualifier at Grand Prix Level was her next accomplishment.

 

Since 2003, Debbie has won or placed in over 35 Grand Prix Level tests on multiple horses.

In 2004, Debbie won the USDF Region 4 Championship at Intermediate II.  She also won the Region 4 Championship at Grand Prix. 
Debbie is a United States Dressage Federation Silver and Gold Medalist.

 

She is also a member of the Missouri Horse Shows Association (MHSA), Saint Louis Area Dressage Society (SLADS), United States Dressage Federation (USDF), United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and the United States Eventing Association (USEA).
